Every boat uses real physics, so each one handles like the real thing.
AD or ←→ · left stick
W / ↑ · RT. Powerboats: S reverse. Fan boats have no reverse (or brakes).
The sails trim themselves. W pulls the sail in, S lets it out. T tacks or gybes onto the other side of the wind for you.
QE shift your weight to help turn left or right. On the catamaran and keelboat the crew leans the boat; on the windsurfer you lean into the turn.
Point too close to the wind and the boat stops. Press T, or hold A or D to swing the bow away. The red wedge on the wind dial shows where you can't sail.
Speedboat only: Q trims the bow down, E trims it up. Auto-trim handles most of it.
C cycles chase / cinematic low / onboard / helicopter / TV · P photo mode (drag to orbit, wheel to zoom)
R reset to last gate · H hide HUD · M music · Space air horn · Esc pause
The speedboat's props lose grip when it jumps a wave, so land straight. The fan boat only steers with the throttle on. The keelboat won't go much past 6.5 kn. If a catamaran hull lifts too high, let the sail out with S. The windsurfer turns slowly until it's planing.
